Excerpt from Memo
Coming out of any presidential debate, general or primary, the media and pundits alike try to answer the hot-button question: who won?
While this question has many subjective answers from various parties, there is one data set which reflects who generated the most buzz and who is being talked about the most on television (for better or worse): earned media.
To examine the impact of the first GOP presidential debate on each candidate’s earned media performance, we first took an average of the number of mentions per day for each candidate in the week leading up to the debate. We then compared that average to their number of mentions on the day of the debate and the day after the debate.
So how can we leverage political data and predictive analytics to best prepare and plan our political efforts?
